How do we manage to recover energy where others fail?

It’s a well-known fact that exhaust air from restaurant kitchens is notoriously polluted, particularly from all the broilers and fryers used, and as traditional heat exchangers have fins, they clog up quickly as grease and soot get stuck between them.

This unfortunately causes many restaurants to not even try to recover any energy from their kitchens at all, and even if a traditional recovery battery has been installed, restaurants are typically forced to bypass that system as it has stopped working.

So, what makes us different?

Why can a Lepido recover energy where traditional systems fail? Because Lepido is a heavy-duty unit that uses a patented geometry of recovery coils instead of fins. It’s also larger in size compared to a traditional heat exchanger as the space between the coils is much larger than between fins. The result is a unique airflow pattern where most of the particles can pass through the heat exchanger instead of sticking to the coils. This slows down the build-up and keeps the air pressure drop to a minimum, even if some coating has occurred. Lepido is coil-based one hundred percent counter-current and with multiple fluid patterns, and even though it allows particles to pass through, it still has the same heat transmission element surface area as a traditional heat exchanger.

The minimum of build-up also means it has no need for any additional service, on the contrary it is a very low maintenance unit, making energy recovery not only possible but also profitable.
